Obituary of Douglas Miller

February 15, 1929- December 14, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce Doug passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a short battle with cancer at the age of 87. He was very proud of his family. Much loved Husband and best friend of Joan Miller, for over 60 years. Supportive and loving Father to his Daughter Debbie MacGregor (Dave) and Son Glenn Miller (Chris). Adored by his four Granddaughters Mandy Johnston (Ian), Gillian MacGregor (Linden), Kelsea Handlsperger (Kevin) and Sonya Miller. His Great-Grandson Wyatt and Great-Grand-Dogs Denver & Rocky brought him much joy. Doug was a hard working, talented man, who was full of ingenuity. At a young age he took over and ran his fathers business in Haliburton, he finished his career as a Tool & Die Tradesman with GM. In his retired years he spent many hours in his shop creating gadgets and fixing anything and everything. Doug was passionate about skiing, motorcycles and loved to camp. He was a member of the Oshawa Ski Club for 56 years. He and Joan rode their motorcycle all over eastern Canada and US with the Oshawa Gold Wing Club. We feel so incredibly blessed to have had such a kind, caring man in our lives. He has left us with so many wonderful memories to cherish. We will always remember him for his infectious knee slapping laugh, sense of humour, catch phrases “Isn’t that something” and stories. He will be greatly missed.
