Obituary of Ike Dykstra

Age 85 years Entered into peaceful rest with his Lord and Saviour on Friday October 16, 2015. Born in Oosterzee, Friesland on November 18, 1929 to the late Jan & Getty (Wind) Dykstra. Sixth of twelve children, Ike immigrated to Canada in 1951. Ike will be lovingly remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his cherished wife (of 59 years) Ali (nee Flim), his son Alex, his daughters Jeannette (Rob) Tamming and Lorraine (Jeff) and grandchildren, Howard, Jay, Ryan, Renee (Mike), Jordan and Ainsley. He is also survived by his brothers Fritz (the late Shoujke), Douwe, Johan, Fokke (Hinke) and Jan (Gerda); sisters Lamkje VanGinhoven (Piet), Getty Reinders (Henk) and Gerri Devries (Klass). He will also be remembered by his in laws Walter Gastelars, Rikel Dykstra, Henk (Flora) Flim, Bertha (Albert) Hosmar, Jenny (Cam) Linnell, Anne Flim, Frederick Wind & numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by sisters Foekje (Jan) Lentink, Jans Gastelars, brother Rein and brother and sister in law’s George Flim, Diane Oudyk and Joanne Wind.
