Obituary of Jane-Anne Davies-Thomas

Jane-Anne Davies-Thomas passed away peacefully December 27th, 2013 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in her 74th year after a long and arduous battle with kidney disease. She is predeceased by her parents Robert Lewis and Francis Evelyn, and survived by her sister Mair Davies, of Hamilton. Beloved mother of Jennifer Thomas-Dobbs and her husband Michael McDiarmid of Orono, and Sarah Thomas and her boyfriend Kristian Gosbee of Victoria BC, Anne is now at rest with the love of her life Samuel Barker and their son David, predeceased. Auntie Anne will be sadly missed by Todd Jr. and Darlene Percy, and Kelly Robinet of Windsor; and fondly remembered by Amber and Mike Wilson, Carrie Bland-Chambers and her sons Matthew and Johnathon, and her many cousins and vast extended family. A vivacious and talented musician, Miss Davies will never be forgotten by the innumerable piano, voice and dance students she has mentored, inspired and accompanied for over 50 years. An equally devoted organist and choir director, Jane-Anne’s magnificent spiritual contributions are assuredly ringing through the heavens now as they have in countless churches in the region for many decades. Thank you to everyone who has provided strength, care and comfort through her difficult journey. The family invites all those whose lives have been touched by this extraordinary woman to join them in celebrating her life on this day. The song has ended…but the melody lingers on.

Service

Rev Dr. Cerwyn Davies, the family’s lifelong minister, guide and cherished friend, will, in true Welsh fashion, lead an uplifting service filled with music, memories and love on Saturday the 25th of January, 2014 at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, 101 Winchester Road East, Brooklin (Whitby) at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at the church; and Anne’s ashes will be scattered in her motherland, Wales, later this year.
