Obituary of Eric Willard Moore

1942-2024

Eric passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Wednesday, September 18 in his 83rd year after a long battle with stroke and cancer. Beloved husband of Dianne for 57 years. Loving father of Jason (Stephanie) and grandsons Carter and Liam. Predeceased by his parents Sterling and Helen Moore and his brother Victor (Cynthia). He is survived by his brother Winston (Carole), sisters Deanna Cooper (Doug, deceased) and Peggy Smith (Dave). He also leaves behind many friends and relatives in P.E.I.

Eric worked in Data Processing at GM / EDS for 30 years. His many passions included motorcycles, boxing, relaxing at his cottage and of course his beloved Prince Edward Island. Eric was also an avid jogger in his prime and completed the Ottawa Marathon twice.

Thank you to the staff of Port Perry Hospital and Lakeridge Health, Oshawa for their care. Many thanks to all the friends and family who visited him during the past few months.

Granting Eric’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service held, however, a visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home (Bowmanville) on Thursday, September 26 from 6-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
