Andrew (Andy) was a hardworking, gentle, and kind man. He was born in Bolsward, Friesland, and immigrated to Canada when he was 13 years old. As the oldest of 8 siblings, he traded school for work to help support his family through the transition. In 1959, Andy married Henny Kiefte (almost 65 years!) and together they had 2 sons and 3 daughters. He was devoted to his family and the church and lived his life in loving service to them. Andy found joy and contentment in gardening, nature and listening to choir and organ music. He was fond of reading and was always ready to sit, cuddle, and read to his children and later his grandchildren. While his over 40 years of running a fish-n-chip store was not his dream career, it gave him many precious moments working with his children, sister-in-law, and many members of his church community. Andy was a genuine model of what it was to be a follower of Jesus and will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
