Obituary of Frank Joseph Jeffery

Jeffery, Francis Joseph

(1945-2024)

“Uncle Frankie” passed away peacefully in hospital on Friday April 19th, 2024.   He was in his 80th year.  Frank is predeceased by his brothers Fred and Dennis (2022) and is survived by his brother Ray (Helen), his nieces and nephews, and their children.

Frank was the eldest of four Scarborough brothers who shared an unbreakable bond with each other.  Whether it was in a social setting, at the hockey rink, or on the baseball diamond, seeing all four Jeffery boys together was the norm.

Frank was a passionate sports fan.  His favourite teams were the Montreal Canadiens, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Rams.  He was an avid memorabilia collector and one of his most beloved acquisitions was an authentic personalized seat from the original Montreal Forum.

Frank’s social circle was large and lifelong.  Playing sports was the way he chose to remain close with childhood friends, to meet new people and to foster friendships.  He was an accomplished slo-pitch player and a proud “A division” Ontario Provincial champion.

The Jeffery family would like to thank Frank’s friends on Nelson Street and the members of his “coffee club” for making his later years in Bowmanville rewarding and enjoyable.

Special thanks to the Critical Care staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for their heartfelt care and compassion during Frank’s final days.

A celebration of life will be held from 5pm-9pm on Friday, May 3rd at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 178, 109 King Street East, Bowmanville ON, L1C 1K8.   All family and friends are invited to attend.
