Passed away at home on April 1^st, 2024

Much loved husband of Joyce (nee Burley) for 66 years.  Loving father of Doug (Faye) Bird, Linda Thornton (the late Lance) and Patty Battle (Marc).  Cherished grandpa of Jennifer, Rachel, Amy, Ashley (Mike), Candice and Dylan and great-grandfather of Bryce, Emma, Gabriel, Kamryn, Sophia and Belle.  John was predeceased by his siblings Ted Bird and Helen (Howard) Corden and is survived by his sister in law Marv Bird and nephews Ed and Phil.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 5^th from 10 – 11 am at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville.  Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11 am, beginning with a Legion Service.  Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.  Memorial Donations may be made to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.
