On July 4^th, 2023 John received eternal peace as he breathed his final breath at Hillsdale Estates in his 90^th year

Beloved husband and best friend of Judy.  Brother to Joe (the late Corrie), Ben (Letty) and the late Henry (Grace).  Brother-in-law to Jo (Tini), Nel (Wim), Marleen (the late Coos), Jan (Janna), Siem (Elly), Gerard (Guusta) and Rianne (Herman).  He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

John ran the race with courage and determination, specifically as he dealt with his mental health condition.  His faith was strong as he ended his journey and as he found renewed HOPE in His Lord.

We are deeply grateful when we think of the years John resided at Hillsdale Estates.  The exceptional love and care he received on Willow Ways floor have made a deep and lasting impression.  We thank the outstanding staff and support team as words cannot convey our appreciation for all you have done for John.

A Graveside Service will be held at Thornton Cemetery, 1200 Thornton Road North on Monday July 10^th at 10 am.  Following that, a Memorial Service will be held at Zion Christian Reformed Church, 409 Adelaide Avenue East, Oshawa at 11:30 am.  Donation in John’s memory can be made to the Zion CRC Foodbank or World Renew.

There is limited parking available at Zion Church for the funeral service. The parking spots at Zion will be reserved for family and those with an accessibility parking permit. Additional parking is available at Coronation Public School (441 Adelaide Ave), a two minute walk from the church. A valet service will be available for those who need it.
