Helen Anice Sturrock

(nee Leavens)

1925 – 2023

Helen was born in Oshawa on January 20^th, 1925 to parents Ernestine (Waite) and Ernest Leavens.  Helen was the loving wife of the late Howard Sturrock for 72 years and a devoted Mom to John (Deb) and Dan (Jane), a wonderful Nana to her grandchildren Abbey (Blake), Emma, Noah (Nerosha) and Ben (Sonya) and great grandchildren Finley, Miles and Maya.  Lovingly remembered by niece Barb.

Helen lost her father when she was 12 years old and with the help of a terrific Mom & sister Ermal, she became a kind and all about the fun woman.  Helen was quite the figure skater in her younger years participating in many Oshawa Skating Club carnivals.  She worked in the office at Sturrock Fuels and delivered meals on wheels with her forever friend, Betty Nichols.

Helen loved to dance and John and Dan remember the smiles from lessons in the living room.  Her playful nature brought joy to all who knew her.

There will be no funeral services at this time.  Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville.  Memorial Donations made to Community Care Durham would be appreciated by the family.
