Jean & Carl posted a condolence

We remember the younger days growing up at Eagle Lake with Calvin and his sister Barb. Calvin’s Mom Gladys was my Dad, Elmer Trotter’ s sister. My two brothers, Bob & Ted Trotter and I attended school in Eagle Lake with Barb & Calvin. So Calvin is a first cousin to Bob, Ted and I. Kathy & Randy were younger than us, so didn’t get to know them until later years.
My husband, Carl Winters remembers when he and Calvin spent many years of hunting at the Winter’s Hunting Camp when Uncle Rube (Calvin’s grandfather), Calvin’s Dad Hughie and Carl’s Dad Walter took over operation of the camp. The camp eventually was called “Camp Missum” courtesy of Carl’s brother Larry - and subsequently bright orange hunting caps with ‘Camp Missum’ on them were ordered for all the men at the camp.
Our prayers are with Nellie & family! Love, Carl & Jean

I remember Uncle Calvin and my dad (Arnold Trotter) going hunter together. We all enjoyed many summers together up North. He always had a smile on his face and he will be greatly missed. He is now up there cracking jokes with my dad once again.
With Love from Ashley Trotter (Jay and Kids), James Trotter ( Jenny and Kids), Karen Trotter ( Joseph)

I will always remember Uncle Calvin for his wit, sense of humour and smile. He was a quiet man but we could have a great conversation about almost anything. To this day when I see a piece of chocolate cake I think of his lunch kit! He was a gentle sole who will be missed.

On our way home from Thunder Bay, Mom was in the back seat, just outside of Wawa, Calvin pulls over and stops. When I ask why, he said he was getting stopped from the police. Then a police cruiser pulls in behind. He had seen the cop pass us, then put on his lights, Mom and I did not see him. The officer was shocked at the fact that Calvin had waited for him and did not know how to react. Calvin was charged for not wearing his seat belt. We all had a good laugh, and I am sure he talked about this stop when he got back to the station.

Calvin you were a very special son-in-law to George and I. You and Nellie were the first of our children to get married and gave us our first grandchild. George would often talk about the great times when you and him would go on hunting and fishing trips. I have lots of memories and stories when Calvin and Nellie would let me tag along on trips to Cochrane, Alberta and Thunder Bay.
Rest in peace Calvin, you will be missed.
Hugs and lots of love to Nellie, Cary and Curt.

We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Calvin's passing. I will remember him as a quiet, kind man who didn't say much, but when he did, it was usually a doozie and funny. You could always find him at a family function enjoying talking to people with a smirk on his face and a room temperature Labatt 50 in his hand. Thinking of Aunt Nellie, Curt and Cary at this time.

Calvin was more than a brother-in-law he was family and a friend. When Calvin got the twinkle in his eye and his smirk we knew we were in for an argument. Win or lose the argument Calvin always ended it with his chuckle. I’m sure after the hunting trips with Tom ,Dad and other family members we only got half the stories of what really happened. Calvin will be sadly missed at our family gatherings.
Calvin was loved by all and will be missed but never forgotten
Love you Calvin. Rest in peace.

Calvin I knew you for over 55 years. I remember all the teasing and shenanigans we shared over those years. Relatives in Cochrane always looked forward to your visits, especially Uncle Don. When you and Pug were together you guys would be talking and laughing the whole time. I don't think of you as a brother-in-law, your more like a brother. ♥

Calvin was an avid reader. He loved to scuba dive and enjoyed flying his plane. He loved to laugh. His boys meant the world to him.He was part of our family for over 50years . We will all miss him. The kids used to call him Uncle Stomping Tom...they all say he looked like Stomping Tom.A quiet man who seldom judged and always helped out whenever he could.
Rest in peace . You are missed
