Obituary of Julia Lynne Poore

Julia Lynne Poore (nee Barnard)

November 6, 1965 – September 29, 2022

We are extremely saddened by the sudden passing of Julia, at the young age of 56.

Julia resided in Indiana with her husband Guy Poore and was very proud of her family there of five step-children and many grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.  She will be extremely missed by her Dad, Doug Barnard and step-mother, Marie Thomson of Toronto, her older brothers Randy (Lucie), Paul (Rheah) and younger sister Michelle (Ian).  She is predeceased by her mother, Nancy Lewis, stepfather Terry Lewis, brother Christopher and step-sister Julie Palmer.  Her step-brother, Michael Dunleavy, extended family and many nieces and nephews are feeling the loss very deeply too.

 Family and friends were extremely important to Julia.  She stayed in touch regularly with everyone and almost always ended conversations with “Love you”.  She loved the cottage and music, especially around the campfire. Her passion for her sweet cats was amazing, she adored them all equally.

Julia’s Indiana family held a service for her on October 3^rd and she will be brought home to Bowmanville shortly where we will have her funeral at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest in Bowmanville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 12th, 2022 from 12 - 1 pm.  A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1 pm.  The service will be available to view virtually, please use the link below.

Memorial Donations to honour Julia may be made to The Durham Region Humane Society or The Toronto Humane Society to honour her love of animals or The Poppy Fund or American Red Cross to support veterans.
