My sincere sympathy to Joyce’s family. I was an “across the crosswalk “ neighbour of hers on Kaukonen Crescent. My late husband and I met Joyce on a morning walk and from there became friends. We discovered her birthday was 1 day after David’s ( plus a few years in between!). We were pleased to be included as guests for her 80th birthday celebration that year. I remember her outdoor flower gardens ( morning glories and sweet peas along the crosswalk fence) and was flattered that she trusted me with the task of watering her many beautiful indoor plants (including many flourishing African violets) when off on travels .
She was a fine person and will be missed by many I’m sure.

Will, Valerie, Amber and Gayla and your families;
Joyce will remain one of the hallmarks of the Solina and Eldad communities. Her many years of sharing her musical talents on the piano, organ and choir leadership are well remembered. She was also a skilled seamstress and I think of the many times she and my mother lead 4-H Homemaking clubs and showed patience beyond belief with our sewing projects.
Cherish your fond memories and be comforted knowing that her love lives on.
With sincere sympathy, Sally (Langmaid) and Tom Barrie

Joyce was a wonderful teacher and friend. We send our love and deepest sympathy to you all. She will be missed by her church and community, friends and family. I especially have wonderful memories of when Don and Joyce first got married and lived in the other half of our house. Joyce helped my with my music and Don tried to teach me physics. Great times! We will miss you, Joyce.

My sincere condolences to the Taylor family. Joyce was a well respected member of the Solina community raising her family while being a member of The Solina Women's Institute and a pillar of Eldad United Church and United Church Women . Her dedication as organist and choir leader demonstrated her devotion to the church. She will always be remembered by me as our determined choir leader, which I am sure wasn't the easiest job to lead a group of teenagers and I think she taught us very well. I will have fond memories of that time always.
Sincerely,
Catherine Baker Lidstone

I wanted to share this photo of Grandma holding me after I came home from the hospital for the first time. I have my own little baby now, and when I hold her I think about all the love and care my grandma gave to me when I was that small. I’m sad she won’t be here to see my daughter grow up, but so grateful for all the things I learned from her about motherhood and family.
