Obituary of Sandra Hope Kinsman

Sandra Hope Kinsman

(nee Vinson)

Passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice on August 16th, 2022 at the age of 80 years.

Beloved wife of the late Morris Kinsman.  Loving mother of Stan Kinsman and Lori-Ann (David) Turton. Dear spouse of Don Wilson.  Adoring grandmother of Justin, Elisha, Rachel, Rebecca, Stephanie, Brad and Stacey.  Cherished great-grandmother of Brielle, Makenna, Liberti, Veada, Abbi, Arrabella, Cayden, Ava, Iris and Ivy.  Dear sister of Carol Wilson, Gloria Delves, Ron Vinson, Don Vinson and the late Marie Adams and Jackie Weir.

Sandra (Sandy) lived her life in the Courtice and Oshawa areas. Sandy always greeted everyone with a kind smile and a helpful hand. She always lived her life to the fullest with kindness, integrity, compassion, and with just the right amount of spunk! Her family and friends were always her priority as she always put others ahead of herself. Family and friends could count on regular gatherings with tables spreading from the kitchen to the living room, filled with the best food and deserts which she made fresh for each occasion. Homemade cookies, pies, butter tarts, trifle, cheesecakes, were among her favorites, as well as everyone else’s.

Pool parties and corn roasts were a regular summertime event for many years with friends and family sitting around the firepit, listening to music, and creating fond memories. Hosting a Christmas Eve open house for close friends and family was something Sandy looked forward to each year until the pandemic hit, and the diagnosis of cancer which occurred about the same time. Sandy loved Christmas time and every year she would spend hours and days getting all the decorations and décor just right.

It seems only fitting that Sandy was able to spend her final days in the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry. The amazing Doctors, Nurses, RPN’s, PSW’s, and Volunteers cared for Sandy as if she was one of their own family members. The incredible people at Oak Ridges kept her comfortable and attended to her with dignity and compassion and treated the immediate family with the utmost compassion and respect.

Sandy will be missed by many people but her spirit will remain forever with everyone that knew her.

At her request, no services are being held at this time.  Memorial Donations may be made to The Cancer Society or Hospices of Durham Region including, Oak Ridges, Whitby, or Clarington.
