Greta Down

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Greta Down on Thursday June 16th, 2022, at Sunnybrook Hospital Toronto at the age of 88. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Wesley Down.

Loving Mother of Paul (Jackie), Scott, Jeff, Catharine (Barry), and Ken (Kathy). Cherished grandmother of Abigail (Jeremy), Matthew, Jeremy (Jennifer), Adam (Morgan), Bradley (Brittany), Andrew (Tayler), Heather, Kendra (Brent), Jonathan, Trevor (Shelby), Taylor, and Lindsay (Mackenzie), and Great-Grandmother "GG" of Shelby, Heidi, Hailey, Kelsie, Robbie, Aleah, Wyatt, Lucas, Addison and Belle.

Dear Sister of Gail and Betty Lou. Predeceased by her other 5 siblings Lillian, Dorothy, Stanley, Bert and Lorraine.

She will be greatly missed by all of her friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and church family.

Greta touched the lives of many through her decades of community involvement such as Community Care, Canadian Cancer Society, St. Vincent's Kitchen, and Feed The Need Durham.

A true inspiration to so many, she will be missed.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North on Tuesday June 21st from 6 - 8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held at EBENEZER UNITED CHURCH, 1669 Courtice Road on Wednesday June 22nd at 2 pm, visitation will be held from 1 - 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Feed The Need Durham, Durham Region Hospice-Clarington, or Ebenezer United Church would be appreciated.
