Obituary of Danny Voltinis

Danny Voltinis

October 16, 1941 – January 10, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Danny Voltinis, in his 80th year.  He died peacefully, after a courageous struggle with cancer, at Lakeridge Health Hospital, in Bowmanville, on Monday, January 10th, 2021

He is survived by his twin sister Sandra Hinds, and sisters Gloria Buga and Anna Valianes.  Devoted and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his loving parents, Vanne and Slava Voltinis, and loving sisters Margaret Petsinis and Menka Trimbee.

Danny was born in Vevi, Greece (Banitsa), the only son in his family.  The family later moved to Toronto, where they joined family members already settled in the Macedonian community; and where his parents found work and he and his siblings attended school.  Danny later attended art school and found work with Rogers Cable.

From a young age, it was clear that Danny was an independent and free spirit, and that he lived life with great energy.  He loved travelling, dancing, classic cars and roller skating.  Danny loved his large aquarium and all animals, but he especially loved his dog, Buster, who passed away before him.  He will be fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends as a kind, sensitive and artistic person who touched all with his generosity and warmth.

Danny is resting at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. A private service and cremation will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cancer Society or The Durham Humane Society.

Rest in peace, dear Danny.  May you forever enjoy roller skating to great music, with good boy Buster once again at your side.
