Lynda  Audrey Lee

October 30, 1938 – March 8, 2021

 

Our beautiful Lynda Audrey Lee of Clarington passed away peacefully at home on March 8^th, 2021 with her family at her side.  She leaves her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Brian.  Loving mother to Susan (Dave), Nancy (Park), Barbara (Carl) and Allyson (Jeff).  Adored Grandma/Nonna to Lauren (Andrew), Chloe, Brianne, Matt, Anders and Jordan.  Loving daughter of the late Lorraine and Grant Farrow.  Sister to Janis (Mel) and the late Lee Farrow (Joanne). Sister-in-law to Diane.  Aunt to 8 wonderful nieces and nephews.  Dear friend to many.

 

Growing up in Port Credit, Lyn had a blessed life enjoying the yacht club, skating, skiing, ballet and music.  The biggest blessing was a family who revered kindness and laughter.  Lyn carried both throughout her life, making everyone feel special.

 

Lyn attended Macdonald Institute in Guelph where she met Brian who was on the same campus at Ontario Agricultural College. She moved on to greener pastures marrying and moving to Brian’s family dairy farm in Oshawa.  Lyn developed a strong sense of community right away, leading the Hi-C group at Kedron Church with Brian when she was just 20 years old.  As a board member of the Women’s League for twenty years, Lyn was involved in helping to bring community programs to the area through Simcoe Hall.

 

Lyn cherished her friendships, many spanning more than sixty years!

 

 

Having their four girls by the time they were twenty-five meant “freedom forty-five”!   They travelled the world together, on skis, with snorkel gear, adventure trips and a transatlantic crossing.  They loved their chalet in Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, Quebec where they spent thirty years skiing, swimming and biking all with Mont Sainte-Anne in the background. They had bons amis who made it very special.

 

Lyn left us on International Women’s Day.  It seems so fitting to celebrate such a forward-thinking woman of great strength.  Lyn was the adored mother of four strong daughters whom she empowered, elevated and taught how to thrive.  What a beautiful legacy on this special day.
