Obituary of Ethel Lorraine Wight

With grateful thanksgiving for a long life filled with many blessings, and an energetic spirit set free, the family shares the passing of Ethel Lorraine Wight at Fosterbrooke Long Term Care Facility on January 26, 2014 Predeceased by her much loved and loving husband, Douglas R. Wight (1987). Born in her beloved Kinmount, Ontario on May 26, 1921 to Neil & Laura Wilson, she was the youngest of six children, all predeceased, Edna, Mildred Gulliver, Herb, Woodrow and an infant sister Alma. Left behind to cherish her memory are her three children John (Angela) (Darlene, predeceased), Carol (David) Laing and Greg (Laurie). She was the special “Bomma” to Jeremy, Julie, Laura, Alexandra, Graham and Meredith. Also great Bomma to Cole, Dylan, Emma, Chad, Bridget, Ethan and Myles and step Bomma to Ashley Scriver and Chris Reader. Dear aunt to Karen Watson (predeceased) (Phil) and Robert (Janet) Wilson and Beverly Earle (Wight). A sincere thank you to Dr. Jefferson, the nurses and PSW’s, and all the staff at Fosterbrooke for their kind and loving care given to our Mom.

Service

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street Bowmanville, on Thursday January 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 116 Church Street, Bowmanville on Friday January 31st at 11 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society or Trinity United Church (Organ Fund).
