Obituary of Thomas Kelly

THOMAS KELLY Surrounded by his loving family, Tom passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday January 24th, 2020 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Sheila (nee Hill). Adored father of Jacqueline (Mark) Willis, Christina (Daniel) Prince and Paula (Darryl) Matthews. Best granddad in the world to Jacqueline, Johnathan, Sarah (Jorge), Tiana, Melissa (Ghislain) and Kelly and great-granddad to Jasper and Lilia. Tom is survived by his sister Margaret Gallagher, brother Patrick (Jane) Kelly and was predeceased by his sister Mary McDougall. Dear brother in law to Eileen (John) Thorpe, Kathleen (David) Shirley, Fred (Lynn) Hill and the late Beryl Shirley. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and countless friends. Tom had a 30 year career with the Ontario Government in Human Resources. He was also the Past-President and treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. His love of his beloved Glasgow Celtic football club could only be outmatched by his love for his family, they were his everything. Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, on Monday January 27th from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. Prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOSEPH’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 127 Liberty Street South Bowmanville on Tuesday January 28th 10 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to The St. Vincent de Paul Society.
