(nee Taylor) 1918 – 2011 Passed away on Wednesday September 28, 2011 in the Peterborough Regional Health Centre after a short but determined battle with cancer, in her 94th year. Predeceased in 1968 by her husband “Bud” Harold Manning Joseph Westcott. Marjory will be greatly missed by her two daughters Anne Westcott and Sheila Majid and by her sons-in-law Gerry Drechsler and Kem Majid. Marjory was the proud Grandmother of Colin Majid (Christine) of Ottawa, Carey Majid (Dr. Francisco Acevedo) of St. John’s, NL and Sarah Sheffield of London, England. They will always have fond memories of “Grannie”. Her two Great Grandchildren, Joaquin and Isabel Acevedo held a very special place in her heart, and she enjoyed following the exploits of her four step-Great Granddaughters Elize, Gwendolyn, Lennah and Vivianne. Marjory will be fondly remembered by her younger sister Elizabeth MacNeill (Blair) and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her elder sister Jean Flatt and by her parents John & Marjory Taylor of Hamilton, ON. Marjory graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1943 and enjoyed a long career in nursing and nursing administration. She served as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War II, where she was stationed in a casualty clearing hospital in England. The family would like to thank Dr. Lucie Blouin, Dr. Jennifer Gillis-Doyle and the staff of the Palliative Care unit at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care of Marjory. Thanks also to Dr. Ernie Kerr for his faithful support and friendship, not only at this most difficult time, but also over the years.
