Obituary of John Vanderkooi

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully in his 80th year at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. John was the loving husband of Ieka for 52 years. He will be greatly missed by his children Rick (Cathy), Roger (Jennifer), Doug (Renita) and Paul. He will forever be remembered by his grandchildren Christopher, Lisa (Robert), Sydney, Jason (Leanne), Kyle †, Jenita, Kaitlyn (Zack), Allyson (Adrian), Meagan, Keenan and great-grandchildren Brennan, Addyson, Avery, Audrey and Briella. He is survived by his brothers Roel, George and Henry. John was known for his gentle manner and kind spirit. After 37 years of working at General Motors, John enjoyed his retired years travelling and volunteering.
