Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Ellen passed away peacefully on November 28^th, 2023 at Thorntonview Long Term Care at the age of 84 years.

Much loved wife of Robert for 62 years.  Loving mother of Margaret Nix (Kevin Bousfield), Joe Blackmore (Debbie) and Anita Panousis (Rick Mackiewicz).  She was predeceased by her daughter in law Michelle.  Cherished grandma of Jennifer Nix (Brian Marks), Lindsay Nix (Kenneth White), Ryan Blackmore (Hazel), Carly Blackmore (Chris Cull), Stephanie Panousis and Emily Panousis and great grandma of Brantley, Payton, Scarlett, Mackennah and Skylah.  She is survived by her brothers Brian Foster (Fred Postill) and William Foster (Millie) and was predeceased by Helen Foster and Clayton Foster.  She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Ellen was the true matriarch of her family and they were indeed her pride and joy.  She enjoyed many activities, especially bowling, bingo, playing cards and spending time outside.  She will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville on Thursday December 7^th from 11 am – 12 pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 12 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Durham Region Alzheimer’s Society.
