Obituary of Rev. Edward "Ted" James Kersey

Peacefully at 93, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital,on February 1, 2017 after a long and inspiring journey. From a small farm in Hampton, to a wood-working shop in Oshawa, to his service as a decorated dispatch rider in World War II, and then through 60 years of faithful service as a United Church Minister, Ted touched so many lives in so many ways. Pre-deceased by his beloved first wife Marian (1984), and devoted husband to Winnifred. Cherished father of Jim, Susan (Stephen), Don, Paul (Salud), Sandy (Bill). Loving and supportive Grandfather to Melissa, Sandra (Jim), David (Ashley), Andrew, Paul, Vicente, Matt, Mike. Great-grandfather to Sadie, Cici, Mikaella, Isla, Savannah, Crew. Pre-deceased by his 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Caring step-father, grandpa and great-grandpa to the Richardson family. Visitation will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH (676 Simcoe St North, Oshawa), on Sunday February 5th from 1-2 pm. Funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Celebration of life to be held at ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH (262 Randall St, Oakville), on Saturday February 11th, at 11 am. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation through NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, with whom the arrangements are entrusted. 2 Timothy 4:7: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
