Obituary of Gerald Frederick Barrack

November 25, 1944 – September 29, 2016 Barrack, Gerald (Jerry) Frederick, with his wife Sue by his side, passed away peacefully at Bowmanville Hospital on Sept. 29, 2016 at the age of 71 after a short, but valiant, battle with cancer. Throughout his life, Jerry found great joy in surrounding himself with those who shared his passions for sports, a sharp game of pool or placing a friendly wager on the NASCAR race. When he wasn’t shooting pool with his Shooter’s family, you could find him soaking up the sun by the pool or flipping his famous ‘Jerry burgers’ with his little Benny and princess Peanut always by his side. Jerry, a man with a seemingly hard-shelled exterior, will forever be remembered as a tender and kindhearted man who deeply loved, and is eternally loved, by his family, friends, and especially his rock and soulmate, Sue. His greatest pride were his children, Tim (Brianne), Kim (Jeremy), Krystal (Gannon) and Karly (Chris), who will forever miss and love him. He cherished being Papa to his precious grandchildren, Gage, MyaSue, Weston, Selena and Jase who all adored him just as much. Jerry will also be deeply missed by his beloved siblings Bev (Dave), Moira (Dean) and John (Linda) and by his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Harvey Williams who went above and beyond to help Jerry, and to all of the Nurses and staff at the Bowmanville Hospital, whom Jerry affectionately called his “Angels”. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all of our friends and family who were there in so many ways over the last few months.
