Obituary of Marian Crome

(nee Quapp) Passed away peacefully knowing God’s infinite love and surrounded by family on October 2, 2010. She leaves her husband David, her daughters Sarah and her fiancée Ivan Waissbluth, Rebecca and her husband Omar Salim, Maria and her fiancée Gary Campbell. Fondly remembered by her two sisters, Irmgard Quapp of Victoria BC and her husband Ron Jobson, Elizabeth and her husband Gerhard Epp of Leamington, sister-in-law Donna Crome and her husband Doug Lucyk of Oshawa, and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Louise Quapp and a baby daughter who died in pregnancy. Many friends blessed her life with love and camaraderie. Marian was a blessing to many people in her life. She was born in Leamington, attended the University of Waterloo where she met David. She moved to Oshawa where she was the first Co-ordinator of Oshawa Community Care. For nearly four years she devoted her life to service in Sudan with the Mennonite Central Committee assisting Ugandan refugees in exile. Upon returning to Canada, Marian worked for people in need with the Durham Regional Housing Authority and the Region of Durham Housing Services. Visitation will be held at the NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday October 6, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 812 Hortop St, Oshawa, on Thursday October 7, 2010 at 2 pm. Interment Thornton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of her love for the people of Sudan, Marian has requested that donations be made to projects in Southern Sudan through Mennonite Central Committee (http://canada.mcc.org) or World Vision Canada.
