Obituary of Barbara Ruth Millson

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Barbara Ruth Millson (nee Taylor) passed away peacefully on June 16, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville at the young age of 81.

Barbara will be lovingly missed by her devoted and dotting husband of 63 years, Gordon; Her children Dale (Sandy), David, Scott (Sherri), Tracy (Joanne) and Fred; Her grandchildren, Nicole (Chris), Brandon (Ashley), Tanner (Jana), Andy, Dayna (Derek), Shayla, Hunter, Lexi, Jonathon and Mary; Great-Grandchildren Seamus, Fionn, Cora, Dallas, May, Denver and Stella; as well as her loving siblings who have been so supportive to Barb and Gord in recent years; and the numerous other relatives, friends and neighbours who loved and adored, Barbara.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Laverne & Wes Taylor.

Barbara grew up in Tyrone where she met the love of her life, Gord. They spent the last 63 years in Newcastle where they raised their 5 boys and watched their 10 grandchildren and 7 great-children grow. Barb enjoyed the small things in life; like spending a Saturday looking for a good yard sale with Gord, or the perfect chip truck fries; she loved visits and phone calls from her family; she loved and cherished the days spent with her sisters and brothers; she loved her flowers, diet coke, puzzles, romance novels, crosswords, watching curling, The Blue Jays, she loved the (pre-playoff) Leafs, had a love-hate relationship with her cat, Annie, Costco hotdogs and watching the birds. Barbara was an amazing woman who demonstrated tremendous empathy, love and kindness to everyone she met and will be forever missed

We invite you to come celebrate, reminisce and remember Barbara on June 25, 2022 at The Newcastle Town Hall between 12pm-3pm
