Melvin Edwards

On September 29^th, 2021 just a month shy of his 93^rd birthday, Mel passed way at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

Mel was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and lived in several northern communities while growing up.  As a young adult, he travelled south and met his future wife Jean.  That sealed it and he was a southern Ontario resident.  They were married 71 years.

He was an avid skier and loved music, especially Barber Shop and Big Band music.

Beloved husband of Jean (nee White).  Loving father of Linda (Dwight) Bradley, Carol (Joe) Hagerman, Lonna (Ross) Dunning, Jim (Brenda) Edwards, Julie (Jim) Catherwood, Christine (Graham) Clarkson and Jackie (Jeff) Canfield.  Mel’s many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their beloved Grandpa & Papa.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St., Bowmanville on Friday October 8^th from 10 – 11 am.  Due to capacity restrictions if you would like to attend we require you to reserve a spot by calling the funeral home at (905) 623-5668.  A Private Memorial Service will be held at 11 am.  Those wishing to view the service virtually please follow the link below.  Interment Welcome Cemetery.  Memorial Donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or The Alzheimer's Society of Durham Region.
