Philip Norman Lyon

Former Employee of the Oshawa Public Utilities Commission and the Region of Durham

 

Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa on Thursday July 1st, 2021 in his 89th year.

 

Beloved husband of Barbara Lynn Lyon (née Powell).  Devoted father of Sandra Rossiter (Barry) and Philip Lyon (Anita).  Loving grandfather of Sydney, Lauren, Corinna and Aaron.  Dear brother of Maurice (Evelyn – predeceased), Bill, Harry (Marg), Shirley Kane (Brian – predeceased), Jack (Barb), Linda Weir (Doug) and the late Barb Tresise (George – predeceased), the late Don (Betty – predeceased) and the late Ken (Marian).  Dear son of the late Minnie & Norman Lyon.  He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

 

Phil was an avid hockey fan, master at euchre and a farming enthusiast.  Next to his family, his greatest passions were road trips and train travel.  His booming, boisterous laugh will never be forgotten.

 

A public service will be held at the graveside (located west of the mausoleum) at Oshawa Union Cemetery, 760 King St. W. (at Thornton Rd), Oshawa, on August 4th at 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
