Obituary of Thomas Gordon Atkins

Surrounded by love in life, Gord peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at the age of 85.

Faithful husband and friend to Lorna (nee Lewis) for 62 years. Dedicated Dad to Karen & Neil, Earl & Sherri and Wayne & Tanya. Always the devoted Grandpa to Kevin & Sarah, Rachel & Joel, Richard, Ian & Katie, Shannon, Jocy, Christine & Scotte, Thomas & Sydney, Taylor, Natalie, Carter, Terra, Jordan, Sydney and Brenden. Proud Great-Grandpa of Poppy, Aiden, Judah, Levi, Chris and Nora. Son of the late Florence (nee Payne) & Thomas Atkins. Loyal brother to Diane & Drew, Beverly & Liz, Carol & Paul and brother-in-law to Nancy. Predeceased by his siblings: Earl, Florence & Harry, Dorothy & Bill, Kenneth & Harriet, Mable & Saint, Stanley, Joy and Barry. Gord will be fondly remembered by many.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville, on Saturday July 21st from 12 noon – 1 pm. A Celebration of Gord’s Life will follow in the Chapel at 1 pm. Interment Orono Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bowmanville Hospital Foundation- memo “Building Fund”.
