Obituary of William Gordon Paterson

William Gordon Paterson

On Wednesday April 18, 2018, we said our goodbyes to heavens newest angel.

William Gordon Paterson passed peacefully after his 14 year battle with cancer and cancer treatment complications. Bill was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully slipped away. Bill has left behind his soul mate of 61 years (Nonie) and his three children Mike (Julie Ann), Scott (Tammy) & Anne (Jameel). Also 8 grandchildren, Nicholas, Cotey, Courtney, Josh, Rianna, Brandon, Amanda & Mercedes. Bill had the opportunity to be a part of 3 great grand children’s lives as well, Kayleigh, Amelia & Wyatt. Bill is survived by three siblings Robert(Judy), Richard(Jan), and Marci.

Bill, Dad, Papa, Papa Paterson, Mr. Bill has touched many lives along his journey of 87 years. Bill was a long time employee of General Motors. He was very well known for the many organizations he was involved in. To mention a few: The Anglican Men’s Club, Antique Outboard Motor Club, The Masonic Lodge, and his involvement with St John’s Anglican Church. Many have heard his name or had the joy of his presence in their lives. Bill and Nonie have called the Bowmanville area home for over 50 years. We are truly blessed to have known this gentle soul.

Come and join us for a celebration of life service and gathering on Saturday May 12th at ST JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 11 Temperance Street, Bowmanville. The service will start at 11:00 am with a gathering to follow at the church. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:45 am.
