Obituary of David James Shankland

October 4, 1925 – March 18, 2013 WWII Veteran & Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Beloved father of Chris (John Tran), Gail (the late Norman Selbie), Davie (Sandra), Terry, Doug, Kerry Ann (Brian Grills) and Patty (Harry Shermet). Loving Grandpa of Tina, Lori, Lisa, Davie, Philip, Wes, Casey, Kara, Clayton, Matthew, Aimee & Ashley and Great-Grandpa of Erica, Colin, Patrick, Sydney, Sam, Dylan, Mackenzie, Jordan, Nathan, Liam & Savannah. Dear brother of Eileen MacDonald and Gordon Shankland and predeceased by his sisters Jean & Annie and brother Duncan & Graham. He will be fondly remembered by Isabel Churchill and friend Lynda Armstrong.

Service

At Dave’s request no visitation or Funeral Service will be held. A Celebration of his Life will be held at ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, Branch #152 56 Baldwin Street, Brooklin on Saturday April 20th from 1 -4 pm. Memorial Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Cancer Society, and may be done through NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, with whom arrangements are entrusted.
