Obituary of John Trinnell

Age 82 years Peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Thursday September 23, 2010. Beloved son of the late Lionel & Rosalind and brother of the late Jean (Ron) Faichney & Peg Trinnell. Loved uncle of David & Samantha Faichney, Jack & Joanne Palmer and their families. John was born in Toronto and lived in Ottawa for many years. He was employed over 30 years in forestry work as clerk, forest ranger, scaler, conservation officer, lumber salesman, forest research tech and resource technician. He wrote articles for 'The Forest Scene', 'Your Forests', 'the Smiths Falls Record News', 'Habitabec' and 'the Ottawa Citizen'. His interest in history led him to write 2 books, 'The Life & Times of an Ottawa Lumberking' and 'The Eagle Rests'. Being of an adventurous nature he travelled extensively throughout the world, walking on 5 continents and going around the world in 1994. He will missed by many friends, among them Ruth Squires (Sissons) and the rest of the Sissons clan. A Memorial Service will be held at the NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, on Thursday September 30, 2010 at 6:30 pm. Interment St. Margaret in the Pines, Scarborough will be held at a later date.
