Obituary of Claire Peirce

(nee Hamel) Age 71 years Born in Quebec. Retired from the Ontario Ministry of Finance Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband, children, and sisters at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday August 18th, 2016. Beloved wife of Jeff (John). Loving mother of Marc (Jennifer) and Danielle (Gavin Lowe). Adoring grand-maman of Henri, Noëlle, Erica, Andrew & Nathan. Oldest sister of Louis (Helene), Laurent (Marthe), Marc-Andre (Aline, the late Odette), Françoise, Marie (Jean-Claude), Richard (Sylvie) & Jacques. Dear sister-in-law of Wayne Peirce and Jo-Ann Rowe. She will be sadly missed by her uncle Jean-Marc Hamel (Micheline, the late Jacqueline), her aunt Liette (the late Leon) and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Since Claire's diagnosis of MDS/MPN fifteen months ago, and most recently Lymphoma, she showed her relentless drive to live and to make the most of each day while always putting the needs of her family and others before hers. She was saddened to know that her days of watching her grandchildren grow, cooking, traveling, shopping, and enjoying great meals with family and friends (including Sharon and Gene Bristow) would eventually have to come to a close. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her as the kind, humorous, witty, and caring person that she was.
