Jim (Tjebbe) Kamstra

Passed away following a brief illness on

Monday September 18th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 88th year.

Born in Meppel, the Netherlands, he emigrated to Canada in 1954 to make a life and raise a family in the Oshawa area.  He started Kamstra Landscaping, a successful local business still operated by two of his sons.  Jim was passionate about fishing, travelling and flying his private plane.  He was also a longtime member of the Westmount Kiwanis Club and COPA.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Corry Kamstra and his sons James (Lynda), Harry (Debbie) and Ted, grandchildren Jessica, Erik, Nathan and Liam.  Dear brother of Sid (Wendy) and predeceased by siblings Harry, Douwe and Jo. He will also be missed by his in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North on Friday September 22nd from 2 – 4 & 7 – 8 pm.  Memories will be shared at 8 pm, all are welcome.  Memorial Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
