Obituary of Ruth Alice Armstrong

(nee Winterbottom)

Promoted to glory, on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with family by her side, in her 80th year.

Beloved wife of the late Larry. Loving mother of Steven (Lori) Armstrong, and Suzanne (Mark) McVety.  Loved Grandma Ruth of Joshua (Vanessa), Brandon (Jessica), Jessica (Colin), Joel, and great grandma of Garnet and Jasper. Dear sister of Mildred (Earle) Nelson. Lifetime member of the Salvation Army, former teacher, and devoted gardener to her gardens at home and at the Salvation Army Oshawa Temple. 

Visitation will be held at the SALVATION ARMY OSHAWA TEMPLE, 570 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, on Thursday, August 24th from 10 – 11:30 am. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will follow at 11:30 am. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Oshawa Temple through NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St, Bowmanville, with whom arrangements are entrusted.
