Cox, Gregory Raymond

February 3, 1948- February 16, 2010 Peacefully passed away at home after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Will be cherished and missed by his soul mate Anna Golden. Will be missed deeply by his step-son, Dwayne. Son of the late Alvin & Merle Cox (nee Virtue). Dear brother of Randy (Shirley), Leslie (Neil) and Lori. Remembered by his many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Will be missed by many friends, work colleagues and the motorcycle community in Canada and the U.S. With a passion and natural ability for the sport of motorcycle racing, Greg gained fame in the 70’s by winning the North American and Canadian Sidecar Championships as well as many other titles in superbike, endurance and vintage racing. Recipient of the Ontario Amateur Sports Achievement Award, and recently the Master of Mosport and Max Awards. Greg was also a photo and test rider for Cycle Canada Magazine from 1975-1982, when his photos were featured as front page covers for many issues. From 1985-2005, he was a judge and supervisor for the International Motorcycle Supershow in Toronto, Ontario. Former employee of Canadian Forces, St. John Ambulance, General Motors, Direct Transport, Cabano/ Kingsway Motors and Ryder Logistics. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville, on Friday February 26, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday February 27, 2010 at 1 pm. Private Interment. Memorial Donations may be made to Oshawa Hospital Foundation.

 

Colmer, Harold Kenneth

WWII Veteran R.C.A.F. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 30, 2010 in his 95th year. Husband of Margaret Patricia (nee Conlin). Cherished father of Maureen (Andy), Patti, Pamela, John and Jane (John). Proud grandfather of Mathew, Kellen, Riali, Gavan, Sarah, Brent, Eric and Scott. Age 73 years After a brief illness, peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday May 1, 2010. Beloved mother of Debbie (Bill) Rowen; Doug (Linda) Carey; Joey (Jill) Carey; Pat (Tammy) Carey and Michael Carey. Loving nanny of David, Jeff, Christopher, Jason, Amanda, Philip, Tara, Krista and great- nanny to many adoring great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Blake, Doreen and Rebecca and the late Arnold, George, Victor, Louis, Sherman, Wayne, Bernard, Malcolm, Beulah and Donna. (nee Wetherall) Age 94 years Peacefully passed away at Hillsdale Terraces, Oshawa, on Sunday June 13, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Jack Campbell. Dear mother of Fred (Cheryl) Campbell; Bonnie Campbell; Bob (Sisi) Campbell. Loving grandmother of Sarah, Greg, Peter, Carly, Meg, Riley and Grant. Survived by her sister Marjorie Davies. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be fondly remembered for her generous nature. A Private Memorial Gathering will be held. Cremation.
